What are the top 3 best electric bikes for commuters?
We posed this question to our staff. Each came up with a different list, but these are the e-bikes upon which most agreed.
Pulse ZR-2 – Most Budget Friendly
Having seen many, many e-bikes that come under the £1000 mark come through our e-bike workshop, we have always been quite wary about stocking bikes at this price point because the build quality has often been in doubt. However, this is not the case with the Pulse range. At £899, the bike doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses. For example, most bikes at this price come with a tiny battery, whereas this battery should see you through 20-35 miles. Also available with a stepthrough frame.
Bergamont e-Ville C A8 – Best for Comfort
When customers try this bike, they are struck at how ‘grounded’ and stable this e-bike feels. The designers have done a lot to put strength into the frame and to distribute the weight intelligently. The effect is comfort and a feeling of complete control; important if you’re a commuter.
Focus Whistler – Off-road or on-road, get to work on time.
This bike has been one of the most impressive additions to our range in the last year or so. With a keen price point of £1149, you get a very well made bike that performs extremely well. While it has a smaller battery than some other electric mountain bikes, it’s motor has a lot of power and it has the simplest and easiest to use operation: switch on, choose a setting and go!
Best of the rest…
