Summary: An awesome ladies full-suspension e-MTB. All the bells and whistles for getting the most out of every ride, no matter where you go.
A lot of the ladies bikes this year have been white, which doesn’t make an awful lot of sense for MTBs which will get muddy. Nevertheless, it’s got a well-constructed frame and the rear shock configuration is neatly tucked by the seatpost, which keep the silhouette of the bike tidy.
You might balk at the mid-section of the frame where the battery is inserted. It is quite chunky when compared to other bikes but it doesn’t actually affect the ride as far as we can tell.
What We Like
The dropper seatpost. To optimise your seating position on the bike is a luxury that you’ll come to enjoy. It means that your legs don’t tire as quickly – because you can get the most efficient leg extension – and you can enjoy even more riding!
What You’ll Like
The E-8000 motor by Shimano. It’s very responsive to your pedalling, so you really feel like the bike is ‘on your side’. It’s integrated well into the bottom of the frame so you get good clearance from the ground. Not only that but as the motor is optimised to work with all the Shimano components on the bike, the E-Contessa works well as a unit.
