Summary: Typical of Scott e-MTBs, we can’t really poke any holes in the E-Spark 720. Although it’s not Scott’s ‘flagship’ e-MTB – that honour goes to the more expensive E-Spark 710 – it’s so good, that there are many brands that would give their right arm to call it their own.
Scott e-MTBs typically have quite a long body – compared to the Haibikes for example – which lend themselves to trail riding rather than downhilling. That’s not to say this bike couldn’t do downhill. With the high quality components (see below) it can do pretty much anything.
The integrated battery does tend to make the frame look quite chunky in the mid-section, but at 500wh capacity, you can forgive that.
What we like
The suspension. Fox-branded suspension is on both the front and the rear and is the best that you can get on e-bikes. In fact the suspension in addition to the large tyres make this a supremely comfortable ride on rough tracks.
What you’ll like
The E-8000 motor. This has been specifically designed for MTBing and is especially responsive to pedal pressure. As you attack an ascent, you’ll find the power is right there with every push.
